Shower Filters

Using a shower filter is one of the easiest and most effective ways to reduce harmful exposure to chlorine and other chemicals. Showering in filtered water results in greater respiratory health by reducing the risk of asthma and bronchitis from chlorine inhalation. Removing chlorine from showering water results in better air quality throughout the house. It reduces the drying effects of chlorine; therefore skin becomes softer, healthier, and younger looking.

Garden Filters

Garden water filters are great for dechlorinating your backyard! It is now possible for gardeners to use filtered municipal water without the usual chlorine. In fact, garden water filtration systems remove up to 85% of chlorine from the garden water supply. A garden dechlorinator water filtration system even protects those little creatures—such as ladybugs, insects, and necessary bacteria—that are actually beneficial to your garden. They can also help your garden grow by protecting plants and flowers that are particularly sensitive to chlorine.

Food Service Filters

Water has a dramatic impact on food service operations. Ice is 100%, coffee is 99%, fountain beverages are 83%, and soups/sauces are 80%. With these percentages, it’s no wonder more and more food service establishments depend on water treatment systems to provide the best quality and the most consistent water.

  • Coffee machines use water filtration systems to reduce abrasion and clogging and to prevent scale build-up on equipment.
  • Espresso machines use water filtration systems to prevent hard water deposits and to eliminate unpleasant tastes and odors.
  • Fountain/beverage machines use water filtration systems because water with high chlorine levels can dilute the flavor of fountain drinks.
  • Ice machines use water filtration systems to produce water and ice that is cleaner and clearer, so all of your beverages start pure and taste the way they should.

R.V. Filters

Not all RV parks have chlorinated city water. Some RVers may go to parks that are on untreated wells. If the water is usually not too bad, or if you are concerned with space or cost, you can filter only the water you cook with and the water you drink. If you are concerned about health-threatening contaminants, then applying a higher level of filtration to the drinking water supply might be in order. You may want to filter all of the water you use then add more filtration to the drinking water to provide an added measure of safety. Many RV manufacturers install drinking water filters, and they are typically one of two different styles. The first style is an in-line filter installed under the sink. The other style of filter is a one-cartridge under-sink system, in which the cartridge screws into a metal filter head.

Miscellaneous Filters

Coffee, when brewed with tap water, ends up being a beverage to which you must add flavorings—sugar, milk, or flavored creamer—in order to make it more pleasurable. You do not often see people drinking coffee black when it is made with bad tasting water. Filtered water creates such a smooth coffee that you can drink it black if you so choose. The reason for this difference is that the flavors in coffee are not fully released when the water is full of chlorine, lime scale, and other traces of minerals. Aromatics relate not only to smell but also to taste.
